How to convert a bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV

Turn a PDF statement into rows you can sort, filter and total.

Why it is useful

Accountants, loan applications and personal budgets all work better with rows than with a PDF.

Steps

  • Download the statement as a text based PDF from your bank, not a scan.
  • Use the bank statement converter and add the file.
  • Check the first and last rows and the running balance.
  • Export to Excel or CSV.

Check the totals

Add up credits and debits and compare with the statement summary. If they match, the conversion is right.
